We offer 2 Banana Leaf Tours: The Banana Leaf Tour Royal Selangor Club and The Banana Leaf Tour Titiwangsa Golf Club. Each Banana Leaf Tour is around 3 hours, has its own route, a specific story to tell and at different days.
The Banana Leaf Tour Royal Selangor Club is on Saturday. The Banana Leaf Tour Titiwangsa Golf Club will be offered on Friday (from 19 November 2021 onwards). This is due to the opening times of the restaurants.
1. Banana Leaf Tour Royal Selangor Club
(only Saturday)
contains a historical breath of Kuala Lumpur. The Royal Selangor Club is founded in 1884 by the British who ruled Malaysia. It is still only accessible for members who are mostly well educated and highly ranked. MikeBikes' guests are allowed to get an impression inside and besides that the exclusivity to have a real authentic Banana Leaf lunch inside The Royal Selangor Club!
This tour has a specific interesting route with a historical itinerary to Independance Square, Dataran Merdeka, where the club is situated. During this 3 hours tour you will cycle along less known places with rich historical marks. The tourist guide will inform you about the history of Kuala Lumpur during the interesting stops.
2. Banana Leaf Tour Titiwangsa Golf Club
(only Friday)
is about knowledge of tin mining in the early days. This area will show you a green and quiet place and the tourist guide will inform you about the byproduct of tin mining under British Rules. The reason why Kuala Lumpur became what it is now is because of tin mining! You will have a real authentic Banana Leaf lunch inside the Titiwangsa Golf Course!
This tour has a specific interesting route to one of the beautiful green areas in the city. In the area Titiwangsa there is a lot of marks what is connected with tin mining. The lake in the park is developed after the cleaning up of tin mining. The tourist guide will inform you about this during the interesting stops.
We start at 10:00 am at MikeBikes' office and will be back by 13.00.
MikeBikes will follow the necessary precautionary measures and Standard Operation Procedure as required by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
